How to keep the TeamViewer password after a session
After recent changes, TeamViewer assigns a new password after each session. For example, if a 1st level support representative leaves the TeamViewer connection and a 2nd level supporter wants to connect to the same ID afterward, the password will be expired, even without closing TeamViewer on the customer side.
A new password has to be inquired from the customer
To solve this, please advise the customer to navigate to the TeamViewer options by clicking the gear icon.
The gear icon will open the options menu
Having done that, the TeamViewer options window will open. Here, please click on Advanced and then Show advanced options to unlock additional settings.
Additional settings will be accessible
With the additional settings unlocked, please make sure Full Access is selected under “Access Control”. Then set “Random password after each session” to Keep current. With these settings, TeamViewer will keep the same password after disconnects.
The default setting of “Generate new” is causing the password changes we would like to avoid.
Full Access and Keep current have to be selected
