coDiagnostiX license system service

1.   license system service

The license system service is essential for the operation of coDiagnostiX. If it is not currently running, you will see the following message after launching coDiagnostiX.

Its associated service program can be found in the following folder.

C:\Program Files (x86)\coDiagnostiX\coDiagnostiX.App\eToken

There you should find a STMSLMSrv application you can launch. Please note that administrative privileges are necessary to start the application.

If the STMSLMSrv.exe is not responding then you need to restart the computer over the Start Menu and choose "Restart".

Multiple options are available.

Start will start the service if it is already installed, just not running at the moment.

Uninstall will uninstall the service, which is safe to do and often necessary if an issue persists. You will then get the option to Install which you have to click as well.

Feel free to uninstall and install as a means to fix an issue related to the license system. For example, if coDiagnostiX is not accepting any smart keys, you can try to uninstall and install the license service.

Diagnosis… will show you what license/dongle is picked up by the license service.

Please note that the current status of the service needs to be “Running” in order to show anything under Diagnosis.

Here you can see the license number in the “Label” column.

The “Host” column entry has an added “(Local)” if the dongle is connected directly to the computer instead of being picked up over the local network.

2.   network dongle installation

In case of a Network License Service Installation (Server) the application will be called STMSLMSrvNet and is located in the same folder (“C:\Program Files (x86)\coDiagnostiX\coDiagnostiX.App\eToken”) as STMSLMSrv that comes with the regular installation.

The icon is a blue padlock instead of a yellow padlock. The functionality and UI of the application is the same as in the STMSLMSrv application.
