coDiagnostiX on Windows Server 2022

1.   dongle not detected

If no license is being detected on Windows Server 2022 operating system, please head to the Windows Device Manager.

You can access the Device Manager by the Windows search function or by right-click on Windows Start and selecting “Device Manager” in the context menu.

In the device manager, you will find an entry “Microsoft Usbccid Smartcard Reader (UMDF2)” with a yellow warning sign.

It is now confirmed that this computer is affected by the issue. The next paragraph will address how to resolve it.

2.   switching the driver

Right click that entry and select “Update driver” from the context menu.

Select “Browser my computer for drivers”.

Select “Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer”.

Select the “Microsoft Usbccid Smartcard Reader (WUDF)” driver and click “Next”.

You will see the following message.

The correct driver is now engaged, and dongle detection should be available.

Normal operation of coDiagnostiX and/or the Network License Service should now be possible.
