coDiagnostiX online update error diagnosis

1.   online update error

The online update not working can have various reasons, one of the most common reasons is the customer’s IT blocking the update.

It often looks like the following in the updater. “The update package is damaged” or “The connection to the update server was interrupted”.

Furthermore, there is often a “CRC32 check failed” error in the log.

The cause of this typically lies in the customer’s network configuration.

2.   diagnosis and resolution

To check the customer's network configuration, please try to open the following link in the customer's browser.

Please note, that the 10.8.1 will change with future releases of coDiagnostiX and the link may have to be changed accordingly in the future.

If the zip-archive is being downloaded, the connection to the update server is unblocked and working correctly.

Often, with updater issues, you will see a message similar to the following.

This indicates a false positive detection by the network-side antivirus / firewall.

To make sure this false positive detection is not happening, the following exceptions must be made within the firewall / antivirus solution.

onlineupdate.codiagnostix.de (HTTP, HTTPS, 81.169.221.106)

Furthermore, .zip and .exe files must not be blocked.

It is in the responsibility of the customer’s IT to implement these exceptions.
